Maria Grazia Bellocchio specialised with Karl Engel at the Bern Conservatory after studying piano and composition at the Milan Conservatory, where she currently holds the piano class. Her concert activity ranges from solo repertoire to chamber music, collaborating with the likes of Salvatore Accardo, Rocco Filippini and Bruno Giuranna. She has performed for prestigious musical institutions in Italy and abroad, including the Festival Mito, the Venice Biennale and the Festival Presences in Paris.
She collaborates regularly with Divertimento Ensemble directed by Sandro Gorli. In 2011 he devised the project ‘Viaggio in Italia - Nuovo canzoniere popolare’, presented at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino. His discography includes recordings for Ricordi and Stradivarius with works by contemporary composers such as Bruno Maderna, Franco Donatoni and Ivan Fedele. In 2023, his project on Salvatore Sciarrino's Piano Sonatas received the Franco Abbiati ‘special prize’ from the critics.
